Previous Project Title
Load Rating for Standard Bridges
Relationship to Previous Project
Same project type as before but as standard designs change all new bridges need to be rated LRFR per federal law.
Does this idea include matching funds?
No
Anticipated Benefits
This helps the Iowa DOT and LPA bridge owners by having the bridges ratings completed once for all bridge owners otherwise every county and city would have to rate each bridge individually.

Final Report Abstract
Seventeen Iowa secondary and primary bridge standards for three types of bridges are rated utilizing the Load and Resistance Factor methodology and AASHTO BrR Bridge Rating software, Version 6.8.4.3001. Load ratings in this report are in compliance with the AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, 3rd Edition, with Interim Specifications through 2019, and the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, 8th Edition. All standards were rated as multilane structures with full impact load for design and legal trucks. Permit trucks were rated as Routine or Annual permits, >5000 ADTT in accordance with MBE Table B6A-45.
